FROM JB:
What's new that I hadn't experienced before is the giant "PUERTO VALLARTA" lettering along the beach. Most cities are incorporating some type of installation for photo opps. I know my hometown did it a couple of years ago. Thankfully I was able to get in amongst the letters before the lineup of tourists began. Truthfully, within moments of snapping a few pics, dozens of people patiently waited their turn to get a photo to commemorate the visit.

FROM JB:
If you plan on spending a couple of hours walking the Malecon it would be a good thing to do early in the morning or at sunset. During our visit, the sun was out but it wasn't sweltering hot yet. By the time we wrapped up the tour at about 1 p.m., it was time to get out of the sun. Then again, it is right along the water so if you need to take a dip, the beach is right next door.
